COVID-19 Security Alert - UK

Yesterday, HM Government sent a security alert to all UK Mobile subscribers telling them of the new Social Distancing regulations.

The message looked like this:



I'm afraid to say, there has already been a number of large scale campaigns to phish UK Citizens, using the current situation and possible short term funding problems, using a very similar-looking SMS and using HM Governments webpage template


The site has been marked by all major browsers as deceptive, and we have taken steps to shut down the site, along with many others. However, people with older, unsupported phones with out of date browsers may still be able to see the site. Please make sure you talk to older loved ones, and they will still be vulnerable.

Please be aware of similar scams to this one. If you are based in the UK and have submitted anything on this site or anything like it, please report it via Action Fraud

If based aboard, please report via your national channels.

  • Double-check the URL
  • Report it
