Americans behind North Korean fake IT worker scheme jailed
Two Americans, Kejia “Tony” Wang and Zhenxing “Danny” Wang, have been sentenced for helping North Korean operatives pose as remote IT workers at more than 100 US companies. The scheme used stolen identities, shell companies, and laptop farms to generate roughly $5 million for North Korea while exposing victim organisations to financial loss, legal costs, and in at least one case access to sensitive defence-related data.
